Middle of the Night Weirdness
Last night I woke up to my son crying in the next room over. This is a usual ritual as we are trying to wean him off of sleeping with my husband and me. He's 2 years old and we need some SPACE. Greg (my hubby) got up and brought him back with us to comfort him.
After Kaleb was all settled, Greg started telling me that I was talking in my sleep before Kaleb started crying. Aparently I was "chanting" loudly in a monotonous voice in some weird language that he had never heard before. After which, there was a pause and I said "Ugh. That's blood." and giggled. This kind of freaked me out. He asked me if I remembered my dream or anything, and nope, I don't remember anything. I asked Greg if it sounded like anything familar like Spanish or German or Latin or something. He said it sounded like babbling. The blood comment is what freaked me out the most, but I also went to bed reading Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake books too.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else? Am I just freaking out over nothing?

An Awkward Situation
So, my mom is getting married. She has been through 2 previous marriages and I personally think that this one is going to be the last. They are so perfect for each other that it is kind of sickening... in a good way! Because I got married 3 years ago, my mom wants me to help her plan the wedding. So I am bridesmaid/wedding planner.
The awkward part is that this is a pretty traditional wedding... in that it is taking place in a church. The church that I used to go to before I switched over to Paganism about 4 years ago. As it is, whenever I run into people that I used to go to services with or youth group with around town, they ask me the same questions: "Why don't I ever see you at church anymore?" "It's been a really long time, Kristin! You need to come to church on Sunday!" and so on... Ugh. Now don't get me wrong. They're nice people, but this is Oklahoma: right smack in the middle of the Bible Belt. The exact reason why only a very small number of people know about my spirituality.I just don't want to explain all this to the Bible-beaters that I used to go to church with.
If it was a church that I wasn't familiar with, I would be fine, but it is the one I used to go to. I guess if the Pastor (who will be marrying my mom) asks me why I never go to church, I can just blow it off as being busy or working all the time (which is mostly true) like I have with everyone else that asks.
I feel all skwirmy inside about it though. Ugh. Awkward...
But on a more positive note: I am sooo digging the bridesmaid dress! I look great in it. (And yes that is the color. I personally would have picked a different color, but hey, it's my mom's wedding.)

Post 018 - Things Are Looking Up
I woke up this morning in a wonderful mood. Yesterday my husband, Greg, finally fixed the brakes on his truck. Why should this make me happy? I am no longer stuck at the house until he gets home from work with my car. After which I usually have to go to work.
And now a popular movie quote from a famous character, William Wallace:
"FREEDOM!!!!!"
(If you don't know who William Wallace is, you should be shot. After being shot, go see "Braveheart" with Mel Gibson. There is actually a whole sentence that goes along with that quote, but I only took the part that really counts.)
Plus, it is just an awesome day outside! The clouds are swirling around from the morning's rainstorm to reveal a beautiful azure blue sky underneath with the sun shining through. The temperature is perfect. *happy sigh*

Post 017 - What Tarot Card Are You?
You are The High Priestess
Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.
The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

Post 016 - This really bothers me...
Read this article from Reuters...
China "cancer village" pays ultimate price for growth
In short it is about how an area that used to be an expanse of farmland and small rural villages, is now over run with noxious and cancerous pollution from surrounding factories. Now 1 in 50 people (even children as young as 7) in the area are being diagnosed with various cancers in a place where 30 years ago cancer was unheard of.
It is really sad the extremes people are doing to the environment, and in turn affecting human health.

Post 015 - Random Life Tidbits
(written December 5, 2008)
Blah. I'm bored. I've been cleaning house most of the day, and I really don't want to anymore. So... yay for the internet!
I've been working on some recipe books for various family members for xmas gifts. I need to work some more on them or they're never going to get done before Dec. 25th. Blah. Even when I'm not at work, I'm working on something or other.
This afternoon I will be putting in my resume at DSR, where Greg works. (The CableOne thing, unfortunately, didn't work out.) Hopefully, I'll get the job at DSR. It pays pretty well.
Reading the "Twilight" series again. It's better the second time around. Eventually, I'll go see the movie again with my buddies Stephanie and Jamie from work.
My 22nd birthday is in 9 days. (December 14th)

Post 014 - Good Times, Good Times, and Other Serious Things
So on Saturday I saw Twilight. I thought that it was pretty good. I am not trying to lower myself to fangirl status, but *damn* Rob Pattinson, the actor who played Edward was freaking hawt. Geez. I just used the word "hawt." I have lowered myself to fangirl status. *sigh*
On a slightly happier note, I can get my driver's license back today!!!!! The 180 days were up on Sunday, but I finally am able to go today. Of course, it's like an hour drive and leaves me less $300... ugh.
And on a more serious note:
Don't drink and drive. Luckily, when I was stopped it was because my husband was puking his guts out the window, not because I had run over someone or crashed into something. It is an extremely expensive and humiliating experience. After all the classes, the fines, the lawyer, the night in jail, and the license reinstatement fee it's come to over $2000 and six months of having to ask people for a ride to work all the time. Plus all the guilt that I had to deal with for months for one bad decision. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

Post 013 - Twilight Is Coming Out This Week!
(Oh no. Not another one of those.) No, I'm not one of those stupid fan girls that want to marry Edward so badly that they could pee their pants. I just think that the movie actually looks good compared to a book. And they are really good books. I just think that some people take their love of a series a bit too far. *cough cough* harry potter.
And now, for your viewing pleasure, a nice little wallpaper of the Twilight cast.
